Running is my ritual. Art is my endurance.
I paint in response to daily life, highlighting the mundane and the overlooked. I use running as the entry point into my subconscious. I never fully know what I will create when I stand in front of the canvas. It has its own life and I’m there to meet it.

Barbara (b.1993, Szombathely, Hungary) is a London-based self-taught abstract expressionist artist and runner whose work is a direct response to the immediacy of lived experience, translating fleeting emotional states and personal memory into tactile, gestural abstraction.
Drawing from her everyday encounters and Hungarian upbringing, Barbara explores the mundane through a process of layering, erasure, and mark-making. She works primarily on large canvases to create life sized compositions that balance spontaneity with material control.
Her recent self-initiated solo exhibition received responses such as “your work makes me feel less alone”, “brave and moving” with viewers describing the work as giving them courage to “spread their wings”, reflecting how her practice transforms personal confession into shared reflection. Barbara is currently developing her professional practice in London, expanding her body of work toward sustained exhibitions and commissioned projects.
